BIG POSTERS - UP FAST
Posters/Flyers bring home more pets than anything else. <<<<<<<<
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE: PUT UP 8 BIG POSTERS
Put 4 LARGE (24" x 36") BLACK AND WHITE POSTERS at both ends of your block. One pointed at each line of traffic, across from where a STOP SIGN would be, so no one can go through the intercession without seeing your LARGE POSTER. The faster you do this, the better. PURCHASE 8 or more BIG poster boards at art supply stores, WalMart, Staples, Office Depot, Artsy-Crafsy stores, etc. (the poster boards go for about 35 cents a piece).
Put BIG BOLD PLAIN LETTERS with NOT washable, indelible BLACK magic marker on the poster. Outline the letters and fill them in with black. Never your name. Never your address Never your name. Never your address
Substitute FOUND, if the pet is found
The phone number doesn't have to be big. You want to make sure motorists see LOST POODLE, when they pass thru the intersection from any direction. If they find or see a wandering Poodle, they will return and retrieve the telephone number. Your lost pet is home.
For a FOUND PET, you want to make sure motorists see FOUND POODLE, when they pass thru the intersection from any direction. If they are missing a Poodle or know of someone missing a Poodle, they will return and retrieve the telephone number. Your found pet is home.
Do not litter your poster.
A motorist can only read a couple words at 35 mph, and then only if the words are distinct. List one telephone number without the area code. It will blur and that is OK. Motorists cannot read it but they will recognize the blurred format.
Tell no one your address. Tell no one your name. No one needs to know who you are, or where you live, to get the pet home.
Never go to strangers address. Never have a stranger come to your address. Just not a reasonable thing to so, in this day and age.
Agree to meet the person, for your protection and their protection, at a POLICE SUBSTATION.
You do not want to be a feature on the six o'clock news.
